A bit about me

I'm a Brazilian / Portuguese Product Designer with 5+ years of experience.

At work

"Be humble, be hungry, and always be the hardest worker in the room." - Dwayne Johnson

From the moment I took the "leap of faith" of changing careers from Chemistry to Design in 2011, I developed a relationship of true love and gratitude towards it. Design became at the same time my savior and my superpower. Through time, it became my main skill to make the world a better place.

Since I chose this path, I was able to accomplish many different things that I'm grateful for:

From 2012 to 2016, my hunger and hopes towards the new career gave me enough energy and inspiration to be approved and study in the best university of Brazil, connecting with and learning from amazing people in the Bachelors of Visual Communication Design;

Since 2012, I participated in many volunteer projects (and even created one), using Design to make a real impact, feeling that life is way more than a professional path and leisure;

In 2016 I traveled through Brazil to work with different people with different skills and learn a lot about self-discipline, thanks to my first fully remote work;

In 2017 I could move from Brazil to Portugal (thanks to my Portuguese Citizenship) to achieve an international Master's Degree in Design Management and could successfully migrate my design career from Graphic/Digital Design to Product Design in Portugal, working in a company (Seedrs) based in Lisbon and London, UK;

In 2019, I could move from Portugal to Austria, improving my Design skills at mySugr, learning a new language (German), and becoming an expert in home office (after all, corona got us all).

At the beginning of 2022, I left mySugr and started an educational year, focused on learning German and Design. I'm also working as a freelancer, started my first experience with leadership and became a mentor in the Product Design bootcamp I started as a student.

In the second semester of 2022, I was invited to join the startup Roots Energy, and until the moment, I'm working there as an UX Engineer, improving my UX Design skills, and at the same time, learning a bit of code and to deal with no-code / low-code platforms.

My professional goal is to keep improving my Design skills, focusing on Strategy and Leadership.

In life

“The journey matters more than the destination.” - Tony Fahkry

I never had big dreams or goals. I make some general plans and I try to be comfortable with the fact that life is unpredictable.

My beliefs about life don't allow me to waste time, so I'm always very conscious about how to use my waking hours wisely. That's why, in my free time, I'm usually:

• Reading about productivity, self-development, and spirituality;

• Learning something  new (musical instruments, juggling, vegetarian dishes, etc.);

• Watching a Ted Talk, a Netflix documentary, or an anime;

• Exercising at the gym or going for long walks;

• Looking for a new place to visit (and visiting it);

• Doing something related to volunteering;

• Hanging out, playing videogames, or watching a good movie with friends;

• Planning the near future.

If I'm not doing any of these things, I'm probably, eating, sleeping, or just anxious, overthinking that I'm wasting my time somehow.
